Is Your Weight Holding You Back from This?
I was debating about sharing what happened to me last weekend with you, because I know it’s going to tick some people off.
But, hey, sometimes I gotta trigger you a bit.
I was at an outdoor concert and there were maybe 200-300 people there.
I’m observing through the lens of 13 years former FBI and threat analysis.
What stood out to me was the condition of the men. If, God forbid, something tragic were to happen, the majority of the men there would not have been able to pick up their wives and carry them to safety.
The majority of women would not have been able to run to safety.
I know you’re thinking I’m just being mean and can’t just assume that by what someone’s body looks like.
You are correct.
But I did watch these people struggle to walk several hundred steps in the heat, while carrying their lawn chairs.
Not to mention, a lot of men had bellies that looked like they were 9 months pregnant.
I know that I can’t assume someone’s strength or physical ability by looking at them (hello, Exhibit A right here. I’m currently in “skinny fat” status, and a total weakling, but working on improving my strength).
But your size, how you carry yourself, how much you struggle to walk, and how much you struggle to carry something is a pretty good indicator.
Honestly, it made me really sad.
Ok. Let’s put the men aside.
As a woman, let me ask you this.
If you were out with your child or grandchild and something happened, would you be able to pick them up and run to safety?
I get it. I’ve been doing farmers carry, carrying 20 pounds with each hand, walking around the gym for 2 minutes straight, and I could barely do it.
Here’s the thing most women miss.
It’s not just about losing weight.
It’s not just about getting in shape.
It’s not about vanity.
And it’s so much more than metabolic health.
One of the most important questions you can ask yourself is, what does the quality of my life look like?
And, God forbid, if something were to happen, can you get yourself and your family out of danger?
I’ll bet you’ve never seen FBI tactics deployed to counter binge eating. Let me show you how.
